About Our Company
Wellpoint Nursing Services, Inc. (WNS), also referred to as Wellpoint and WNS, is established to operate business as a residential services agency (RSA). The agency provides healthcare services and in-home nursing to individuals in their own homes.
Wellpoint maintains a database of healthcare workers that are registered to provide home health care services in the State of Maryland. The founder and owner, Victor C. Okenkpa, has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare environment. Mr. Okenkpa, the agency’s Administrator, is assisted by the Director of Nursing (DON), Ann Okenkpa. Both members of this Administrative Team are educated, trained and experienced healthcare professionals, and together are qualified to lead the agency to accomplish its mission, vision, and goals as qualified business administrators and healthcare providers.
As a team, the administrators have diverse academic and career backgrounds acquired over an average of 20 years with transferrable skills which allows them to carry out this work also in the community by way of this agency, to deliver the same high-quality care directly to clients in the community. The administrators are enthusiastic about the mission and vision set for the agency and are committed to narrow the gap between the qualified providers and the increasing demands for home health care services.
The initial goal is to start with individuals and families seeking the services we provide that live in the Central Region in the State of Maryland. Wellpoint is dedicated to providing the best quality client/patient care in the community and in the homes of the clients.
Wellpoint is established as a corporation, incorporated in the State of Maryland to operate as a home health care business in accord with COMAR requirements and the regulations and requirements of the Office of Healthcare Quality (OHCQ), the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON), and all local agencies as required.
What Is a Residential Service Agency (RSA)?
Residential Service Agency (RSA) means an individual, partnership, firm, association, corporation, or other entity of any kind that is engaged in a nongovernmental business of
employing or contracting with individuals to provide at least one home health care service for
compensation to an unrelated sick or disabled individual in the residence of that individual; or an agency that employs or contracts with individuals directly for hire as home health care providers.
As an RSA, Wellpoint provides supportive home health care services that include: assistance with ADL’s, housekeeping services, and skilled, medical, and specialized nursing care services. Consumers who choose Wellpoint do so primarily because of convenience and cost-effectiveness. Third-party healthcare service is also in growing demand due to better quality of treatment provided by trained professionals.
